Uber India New Features: Uber India has launched several new in-app features on November 14, 2024 to improve the experience of drivers. This includes features like SOS integration with police in case of emergency, helmet verification for two wheeler drivers and female rider preference for female drivers. These features have been launched keeping in mind the safety and convenience of the drivers.
Started in 2013
Uber came to India in 2013. Now working here with more than 10 lakh drivers. Uber CEO, Dara Khosrowshahi said that Uber’s driver market in India is the second largest in the world. According to the company, Uber has 1.7 crore monthly active users in India and it is available in 125 cities of the country. According to the information, Uber driver partners complete more than 81 million trips every month.
Safety Features
In this new feature, during emergency, drivers can now share their live trip location and other important details with the local police. The feature is currently available in Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, and will soon be rolled out to other states including Delhi.
Keeping in mind the safety of women drivers, Uber has launched the women rider priority feature in the app. Now women drivers can give priority to women passengers whenever they want, especially at night. The feature is now live across all major cities and has completed over 21,000 trips so far.
Helmet Verification Feature
The company has also started a helmet verification feature for two-wheeler drivers, in which drivers will have to take a selfie while wearing a helmet. They can take trips only after real-time verification. This feature will soon be available in all cities.
audio recording feature
Uber has also introduced audio recording feature for drivers and riders, which has been brought from security point of view. This recording is completely encrypted and saved only on the driver’s device.
Drivers will get their earnings immediately
Not only this, Uber has also provided the facility of in-app tipping, through which riders can reward the driver for fast pickup during busy times. Apart from this, drivers are now given the facility to receive their earnings instantly through UPI. Now drivers can cashout their earnings from the wallet section within five seconds. This can be done only up to four times a day.
